The stupid questions first:

1. Do you work on spec?
2. Will you do work for hire?
3. Do you give discounts?
4. Will you ask a vendor to provide a discount for me?
5. Will you ask another artist to provide me a discount?
6. Can I do what ever I want with the art files once the project is
completed?
7. Don't you artists just do what you do because you love it?

The answer to the questions 1 – 6 can be said in one word: NO. As for #7, if you aren't doing the work you love, well, what's wrong with YOU?

A wiseman once said, "Ask for a reduction in the cost of products but never ask for a reduction in the price of services. The service you get for $20 dollars is never the same service you get for $5."

Because each and every project is estimated on an individual basis and treated as the most important project in production, you are getting the best service and value the market has to offer. This is our guarantee to the partnership we will share.

You dear, client and partner, own the right to use the art work as contracted. Additional uses are subject to use fees. Should you wish to own the art, you may negotiate a proper and legal buy out agreement.

Other Questions:

8. True or false: It's only a simple logo/design/illustration/project. It shouldn't take long or cost much, should it?

False. It's a professional's job to make what they do seem easy. But don't be fooled. It's never as easy as you think. If it was, you'd do it yourself, right? Of course! Every project takes many hours of research and development steps. For instance each illustration here is comprised of at least 100 hours of actual draw time --after the individual components are generated. And this doesn't count the research involved in developing the concept.

9. Do you charge for research?

It depends on the project. Generally, yes, because it differentiates your project from the others in your market. This is a standard practice.

10. If I just want you to do what I tell you, will you do it?

No. Because, sometimes, the customer isn't always right. You know too much about your business and don't see it from the perspective of your customer. Besides, if that's what you want, you can go to a quickie print shop where they don't care about your business or your customers the way that we do.
